If she's telling the truth about "never" feeling unsafe, I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before she becomes a victim. Only someone with zero street smarts could "never" feel unsafe in any urban environment.

i looked into the 1968 Baltimore riots in pictures and seems as if nothing's change. These animals still hate everyone and holds a grudge, except these days they'll protest over a rapper's death and or drug dealer's death as opposed to someone like MLK who also talked **** and was somewhat of a separatist like Malcolm X.

So what if the looting wasn't that bad? It shouldn't happen in the first place. No one has a right to break into someone's business and knock things over, break glass, take things, whatever. Imagine being the owner or manager of that 7/11. Imagine being a business owner in Ferguson and finding your business burned down. These incidents have nothing to do with the man who died in police custody. There is no need for this type of behavior, and no excuse, period. It angers me that people think they can do this in the name of some guy who was probably a criminal anyway - just like Michael Brown. There is something very wrong with that mindset, and that mindset is part of the problem.
Someone is failing to look at the larger picture here! IMO, the victim, and Michael Brown as well, has little to do what triggered this!

It's the result of an accumulation of anger, frustration and despair! Which could even go back to the 18th/19th century! Called: paying for the sins of our fathers!

Whoever says violence accomplishes nothing, has read very little history!

There's so many wrongs to be addressed in this country, by rights, there should be no less than 20 ongoing protests being carried out every in this country, by both black and whites!

Let's get started, before the accumulation of anger, frustration, despair registers with the white people in this country, and then? What happened in Baltimore will be an unnoticeable blip on the screen!

This is what you get when you have one set of justice and due process for one group of citizens and another totally different set for another group. I remember when this situation happened in Cincinnati the youth went to the police station and took down the American flag that was flying on the flagpole in front of the station and flew it back up upside down. The Police didn't even dare come out of that station knowing the youth was seriously intent on f****** them up.

The people who are really hurt by this violence are good Blacks -- and there are many, many good Blacks in Baltimore -- who try to live their lives as best they can amidst all the squalor. For example, think about the people hurt by the burning of the CVS and the 60 housing units still under construction. The city will be set back 20 years by these riots.

I also saw some pictures of Black people volunteering to clean up the mess caused by others in their communities. I saw a picture of two fairly young Black women giving bottled water to White police officers. I was really impressed by these people. Good showing -- way to go!

These are misguided kids doing this - not an entire community. Baltimore has issues, but it's a wonderful town, and I hate the way that rednecks living in the meth-ridden counties around Baltimore just tear it down, as if it's not a mix of good and bad like most cities. There's no easy solution here. But I'm pretty sure not going out after dark in the Inner Harbor, the Inner Harbor for cripes sake, is the answer.

At the Sound Garden in Fells Point, there is or used to be a bumper sticker on one of the cash registers that said "Suburbs go home". And it used to **** me off - like who the eff are you to judge where someone - maybe one of your paying customers - lives? But I feel like it's apt, with some of these fear-mongering posts. So quit your city jobs and stay home if it's so scary.
So, let's see if I have this straight: expressing fear of rioters and looters and thugs (not "misguided kids") makes me prejudiced; but a liberal, open-minded, non-judgmental city-dweller such as yourself can dismiss everyone in the suburban metropolitan area as "rednecks living in meth-ridden counties," and that's OK. Got it.

Would there be equivalent outrage over Freddy Gray Jr.'s death if he was white instead of African-American? I want someone to address that inquiry for me. Would the people of Baltimore have rioted if Freddy Gray Jr. was white? I want someone to address that inquiry for me also.
No one would have rioted if the victims had been white. Most inner-city black people wouldn't care about a dead white guy; and most white people would support the police over a violent criminal.
