My question is: How does looting, vandalism, and all the other reckless and illegal activities have to do with protesting a death by the Baltimore City police? What kind of message does that send? Protesting police violence with violence itself does not make it right.
The so called peaceful protestors blocked traffic and inconvenienced hundreds if not thousands of folks. That's before the property destruction. I do not understand why they are allowed to get away with it. Would the same deference be shown to a Klan rally or a March in support of gun rights?

Just saw this on the news online, sorry this is happening Baltimore. Despicable people. We don't need another Ferguson anywhere in this country. The looting and smashing civilians' cars gets these idiots nowhere. Smashing restaurant windows, for what? So the innocent owners have to deal with destroyed and stolen property? That really helps the "cause."

With all of these recent race riots going on, I bet we'll see another era of "white flight".

Heck, given Baltimore's diverse demographics, it will be "anyone with money seeking a safe environment" flight.

It's a shame to see cities and their reputations stained by these protests. It's hard to recover from a bad reputation.

Blacks lives matter when the police are involved. They don't matter when blacks kill other blacks, at least to the people protesting.

I don't get why these protesters would march around as if looking for someone to lynch? Who are they trying to lynch here? It makes no sense...

How come no one ever looked into the health records of the guy that died, he could have a preexisting spinal injury due to getting shot in the hood? Wasn't he asking for an inhaler of sort? He has a twin too right? He could have some preexisting retardation like some twins?

Yeah even Ferguson was ho hum seemed very contrived. Since there isn't much to burn down in Black neighborhoods, the area where Freddie died has no grocery store for example, the police can concentrate efforts in the prime areas of the city.

I guess there's a benefit to the black community not being able to produce enough social capital to attract thriving legal commerce.

The only negative could be mental. What happens if suburbanites stay away? As it stands now downtown retail is mixed. If folks stay away from Camden turn out the lights. I wouldn't be surprised if they move Camden Park to the suburbs like the Braves are doing in the coming years.
