This is my first post.
My husband (from Maine) is being transferred here , with me , of course (from Florida). We are very excited as Fl. is getting a bit much and very dramatic. Any info would be helpful.

So any area in Maine is safe to move to? I was planning on moving by section 8 and was worried me and my 2 sons would be put in a bad area. What is the best area Bath, Brunswick, Old Town, or South Portland?

'safe'? Do you mean like safe from crime?

Yes.

Nearly all of Maine is very 'safe' from crime.

Of those choices Old Town would likely be the absolute safest.

I live very close to Old Town.
