If you wish. When we lived in Scotland, we had access to wool sheets. They have many grades of wool, some of the grades are very soft. They make very nice stuff.

My Dw has been attempting to duplicate that with the wool we produce.

We have had a water-bed since the mid 80s, being heated it makes a huge difference in how you adapt to cooler climates.

Back on topic:
I think the over-all best heating system is radiant flooring.

According to studies it uses less heat to make your home comfortable.

A warm floor feels good on bare feet. You can turn down the furnace a bit, so the air temps in your home will measure cooler. But your still comfortable.

Tubing is ran underneath the floor. Hot water is circulated in that tubing, so the floor is heated.

It can be heated by woodstove, or oil, or LPG, or whatever.

It does need a circulating pump, but it is a small pump and can be ran from a battery [so the system still works during a power outage].

In our case; we have it circulating through the woodstove, then a LPG water-heater, then an electric water-heater. Whenever we light-up our woodstove it heats the water. Or if we desire to heat using LPG we can turn that water-heater on, or if we run low on LPG we can turn on the electric water-heater.
