I'm old enough to remember Frank Robinson and Carl Yastrzemski winning back-to-back Triple Crowns in '67 and '68. It would be a hoot to see anybody win again this year but Cabrera has a real shot if he stays healthy.
I'm a Jays fan, so take this for what it's worth - but I wouldn't count Jose Bautista out of the equation just yet. His average is climbing and he's starting to smoke the ball nearly every at-bat.
Likewise, Davis is not far behind Cabrera in batting average and RBI. We have two hitters in the American League who rank at the top in the three triple crown categories as May is coming to a close. That in itself is incredible.
I think Cabrera will win a second consecutive triple crown. My guess on his totals? .340 average, 47 HR, 158 RBI. 2013 will easily be Davis's best season and he will finish with spectacular numbers (.325, 35 HR and 130 RBI) but he does not have Miguel's consistency.
I think Cabrera will. Chris Davis has five more homeruns, but I am uber-skeptical of his consistency. My guess is he enters a slump somewhere in the middle of the season and finishes with 35-40 homeruns
