Orioles are 24th, they better hope for another smile from the God of One Run games. Yankees are 19th and three AL East teams rank ahead of them.

How did they screw up and forget to include park factors in the lists we have been linking? They have it corrected now in this final presentation, but that seems like a rather big thing to have overlooked.

Certainly looks like the other AL West teams should be able to get fat playing Houston this season.

The Astros top ranking position is second base where they are 15th....middle of the pack. Elsewhere it is:
C-27th
1b-29th
2b-15th
SS-26th
3b-26th
LF-20th
CF-27th
RF-23rd
Starters-30th
Relief-30th

Position Players..29th
Pitching..30th

The only worse ranking team in position players is Seattle, 30th. The Mariners starting pitching is ranked 24th.

Meanwhile, the other three teams in the division...
Angels...Position players..1st, Starters..18th
Rangers...Position players..4th, Starters..3rd
A's...Position players..15th, Starters..10th

Having two such crappy teams in the division should help to inflate the win totals for the other three and make it very likely that at least one of the wild cards will be from this division, possibly both.

The Oakland A's have been doing excellent work toward making the above prediction look good.

The A's are currently 12-4, and one half of those victories have been against Houston. This afternoon the A's finished off their second sweep of the Astros this season and in their six meetings, Oakland has outscored Houston 45-19.

Houston has only played against other AL West teams so far and apart from the games against the A's, they are 4-5. (2-1 vs Mariners, 1-2 vs Rangers, 1-2 vs Angels.)
