It was time. Moose had given it everything he had. I would have loved to see how he would have performed in the National League, but he nonetheless had a great career. I'll never forget his stretch motion. Considering all the great pitchers the Orioles used to have and the styles they had, Mussina was perfect for that organization.

Moose had one of the best pitching motions I have ever seen. After releasing the ball he was always in perfect position to field, hence all of those gold gloves.

Another important aspect to keep in mind, his retirement also allows the Yankees to add another $12 million to what they can offer free agents this season (his estimated salary if he had returned for next year).

To me the bigger question is will they put him in as an Oriole or a Yankee? I believe it comes out to 10 years Orioles, 8 Yankees.

I think he should go in as an Oriole. His prime was during his Oriole years.

I think he should come back and play for the Phils. After the year he had last year, I'd sign him to a 2 year deal. He is a PA native....

Moose will be very content to just hang out up in Montoursville making sandwiches. I hear he will be a part of Yankees spring training next year.

Being a life-long Orioles fan, I've never forgiven him for going over to the dark side and becoming one of those hated Yankees. We all say the "Curse of the Mussina" has kept the Yanks from winning the World Series ever since Moose started wearing pinstripes.

If that's the case, then we all should be happy that Moose went to the darkside.
