Speedy center fielder - Bill North: Best remembered for his days with Oakland, but also played for the Cubs, Dodgers and Giants. While with Oakland he got into a clubhouse fight with Reggie Jackson who injured a shoulder. Ray Fosse, while trying to break it up, suffered a crushed disc in his neck that cost him 3 months playing time. Apparently Bill was unscathed.
Johnny L. "Blue Moon" Odom, pitcher (Kansas City-AL, Oakland-AL, and two short stints at the end of his career with Cleveland-AL and Atlanta-NL).
He was a good pitcher, but hardly the legend his hype indicated; his best years were 1968 and 69 with Oakland (16-10 and 15-6 respectively). And for his 13-year career, he was a decidedly un-legendary 84-85.
Bill Skowron - better known as Moose. 1st baseman who played on five WS winners. 4 with the Yanks and one with the Dodgers. Major leaguer from 1954-1967. He wasn't really a huge man - 5'11" / 195 lbs. His nickname came from childhood when he got a buzz cut and his friends thought he looked like Mussolini.
Johnny Vandermeer, pitcher. 15 years in MLB-1937 to 1951, mostly with Cincinnati. The only pitcher in MLB history to throw two no-hitters on consecutive starts. Actually switch hit too!...
