The Cardinals took two out of three from the Reds with a 3-2 win.

Adam Wainwright allowed two runs on six hits and struck out nine in six innings. Seung Hawn Oh (2-0) won the decision. Trevor Rosenthal earned the save (11).

Normalcy appears to have returned to the National League Central Division for a day as the Cardinals won and the Cubs and the Pirates lost. In regards to the Cardinals and the Pirates, the Cardinals' offense went boom in the twelfth inning for the 9-3 win.

Matt Carpenter (10) and Brandon Moss (14) homered for the Cardinals.

Starting pitchers Adam Wainwright and Carlos Martinez provided excellent help in pinch hitting and pinch running.

Michael Wacha allowed two runs on three hits and struck out five in seven innings. Jonathan Broxton (1-0) won the decision.
