“It’s a terrible image and perception when something like this happens,” Department of Motor Vehicles Deputy Chief Vito Scattaglia told NBC4. “That does infuriate me, because there are those people that truly need that space.”
NBC4 tried to talk to the 23-year-old, uninjured Bynum about parking in the handicapped spaces. He slammed his car door and drove off without comment. Now that’s arrogant!
Bynum - no class
NBC4 - Stupid to think he would give you any comments
well he surely cant be 100% to blame, he is just relapsing to..... well every season of his career when he actually WAS handicap. you know the saying habits are hard to break.
oh and he wasnt FULLY in the handicap spot, he was partially in the no parking/entry pedestrian walk as well.
As demonstrated in the playoffs against the Lakers.

Like Bynum is the only non-handicapped person using a handicap pass from when they were handicapped...
He isn't.
However, he makes his living as an elite athlete \ public entertainer so he is going to get raked over the coals for this one.
In his defense however, the only place I've ever gone in my entire life where the handicapped spaces were actually full.....was the area casino. (They also had an on-site oxygen tank exchange. )
Not justifying what Bynum did, but this happens on a daily basis throughout the country. Arrogant, inconsiderate, and stupid? Yes. Should we crucify him over this? No.
As someone who has a handicapped placard, many broken bones have left me with somewhat severe arthritis that makes walking a painful experience. When I see people, hale and hearty, parking in handicapped spaces, it is infuriating. I am somewhat well known in this area for pointing out the problem to both the offender and, if they do not move their vehicle, the police as well.
He didn't take up two spots and how is slamming his door arrogant. Maybe he is going for an equal rights thing, or maybe he is just being lazy like he was in the playoffs.
