People do not doubt his ability. He just hasn't been in a big time environment. When Butler was average, no one heard about it. When the Celtics do bad - it will be a little different.
Good luck to him - well, in relative terms since I am a Sixer fan...
As a Celtics fan, I am going to take a wait and see approach. It would be easy to sit here and say what the heck are they thinking? But until the season starts and they play games, I will reserve judgement. The last time we had a former college coach, it did not go so well.
I wish him well. He's got a tough task ahead of him, but somebody has confidence in him and I hope he excels. I don't expect success right away. Look at Mark Jackson at Golden State.
I'm still not a Celtic fan however, but I like them better than the Knicks and the Nets.
As a Celtic fan, I do like the hire. The reality is that this is a rebuilding year, new coach and new roster. I hope Stevens knows how to build a team. Yes he is great college coach but the NBA style is much different. Wait and see is the answer.
Definitely don't seem like he and rondo will get along next season but we will see.
that's why they should trade Rondo to the Pacers for Danny Granger and draft picks.
