Cleveland passing the ball a lot better to start this game against Denver. With Lawson out, Cleveland -190 ML looks like a tremendous steal.

They have a good start because Lebron is playing PG lol....and Dion is on the bench.

One of the perks of having the best player in the league, he can do it all.

Text book example of making your teamates better.

I've never argued against the idea that he comes off the bench. I will vehemently disagree with a coach who only plays him 13 minutes, though. He's a guy that should get 30 minutes a game and if that means he does a lot of it while other scorers on the bench, that's fine.

I think tonight's lineup and rotation is pretty perfect. Nice adjustment by Blatt to get Tristan in the lineup.

Waiters, though, he's having a hell of a first half thus far. 3-for-5 with 8 points. If he can improve his free throw shooting...

Side note: Happy to see the refs call the Flagrant-2 Ejection on Arthur. That was a miserable excuse for a defensive attempt that could have cost a player their season.

Side note 2: Blatt looks an awful lot like Vladimir Putin.

The Cavs played the first game of the season that legitimately brought some hope to the season. That's what a team looks like when things are clicking. Terrific defensive effort and fantastic ball movement. 7 players scored in double figures despite the fact that they shot miserably from 3 (Lebron and Love a combined 1-for-10 from deep).

James 22, Love 19, Waiters 17, Varejao 15, Thompson 12, Irving 12, Marion 10.

That first quarter was one of the better quarters I've seen from any team this year.

Back home to face the Pelicans on Monday.

Glad you won your bet.

I agree with everything you wrote except defense. You cannot let a team like the Nuggets shoot 47% but again, that's going to be the thing it takes the longest to get going so for 5 games into the season let's not e too critical and take the win and the positives.

Again, to be perfectly clear, I fully expect Cleveland to be in a much better place by year end and if not this year then next. I'm just more interested in watching the process and seeing if I'm right and they still need to make some more player moves or if I'm wrong and some of their guys are able to develop.

Bump. He's playing for another team now.

Quality defender? Who needs that when your defense is still better than 2 teams in opponent FG%?

This is pretty great news for Cavs fans all around. Gives the younger players more minutes and more responsibility carrying the offensive load while hopefully keeping LBJ (and AV, Love) rested.

Maybe we've got Greg Pop Jr.
LeBron James NBA & ABA Stats | Basketball-Reference.com

He's playing more MPG than since he was 25.

(I'm not trying to pick on you as you are a pretty informed and non-crazy poster...just bringing up a previous topic and it appears they are not resting Lebron.)

Oh...Dion looked great today.
Dion isn't starting anymore. Oh wait! Where did the "Big 4" go?
