I'm not sure who in their right mind would want to coach at a school that fired a coach w/ 1 championship and 4 elite 8s in 10 seasons
He wasn't fired; he quit!

Donovan's, and Calipari's, statements were equivocation at its finest.
Donovan-In response to the rumors circulating about my interest in other jobs, I wanted to address this as quickly as possible... I am committed to the University of Florida and look forward to continuing to build our program here.
Calipari said he... wasn't interested in going anywhere.
It would seem that alot of UK fans, judging by the sports section in the leader today, think they are still the place to be. Why would a coach want to leave Florida or Memphis to come to UK? It's like the Notre Dame complex in college football where they think they are the place to be when in fact there are a ton of other programs in better places.
With the economy the way it is and all the heat on CEO's etc. I find it interesting to see the types of deals and packages these guys get. (Whether they succeed or not). Basically, I have a bunch of relatives that totally understand why you pay a guy millions to coach but think it's unfair to pay that sort of money to someone that say...runs a company making widgets.
For the record I don't have a problem, just think it's funny to see people so inconsistent.
I know the head football coach of one of the top Big-10 schools and it's not easy getting or staying in those top jobs.
I could see why he would leave Memphis ($$), if he can take his recruits with him (Henry, Cousins, etc), I don't think they have signed LOI yet, Kentucky will be a preseason favorite to win it all next year. It's alot easier to recruit to the SEC than Conf USA and he did a GREAT job doing that.
I think he will enjoy going head to head against Pitino as far as KY BB supremacy is concerned.
Sad that money is such a thing in college sports. I don't get why Kentucky is a great job, I really don't. At Memphis he has taken them to a top 10 team with multiple trips to the tourney and landed 2 of the top 4 recruits in next years class. You come here and it's not about wins and loses you have to kiss some MAJOR Kentucky butt.
