Gotcha. i think that was probably a bronze hydrant fitting for a 4" Storz connector on a firehose, like one might install on the side of a large apartment building. You have to get those from specialty vendors.
What the CTAHR manual recommends is a simple 2 1/2" standard pipe thread, which fire trucks carry a connector for. You get those at Ace Hardware.

Thus is the fun of building on Hawaii Island in rural areas, such as getting to do all the homework on permits, property lines, lava zones, insurance options, what type of septic system, what type of water tank, water filtration, tank connectors .... it goes on and on. I'm am 1000% thankful that I'm past all that, whew.
