Hi. I've been trying to find a liberal church (or LGBT friendly) that has small groups/life groups that meet pretty regularly, but I'm having a hard time finding one. Maybe they're not listed on the sites, so thought I'd ask on here. I'm in Boise but willing to go as far as Nampa.

Please no rude comments...

Try the United Church of Christ (UCC) downtown on Woodlawn? Too liberal for my taste but it might be what you're looking for.

Hi, Somebody,
Try the Boise Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, on Garrett St in Garden City. They are definitely LGBT-friendly, and they have small groups called Chalice Circles.

I tried Boise Unitarian first, and as much as I really liked Rev. Sarah I felt so out of place in the circle I tried. Seemed way too strict for being such a liberal church. Wasn't my cup of tea. (Sorry if anyone goes there! I really wanted to like it)

The above two are solid choices. Another one would be the the local branch of the Metropolitan Community Church, which specializes in outreaching to LGBT: https://sites.google.com/site/liberatingspiritmcc/ Looks like they have a discussion group every Tuesday night.

I've also seen mention of Cathedral of the Rockies and the Episcopalian churches taking a progressive stance. Beyond those, you're likely playing with fire given the predominantly conservative nature of the local churches.

I have a great pair of lady friends that live in Meridian but found a church they love in Nampa that accepts them for who they are. I don't know the name of the church so I will ask them and if you PM me, I will be glad to share (unless my friends tell me it ok to say which church here online).
