there are any realtors in the Boston/Brookline/Cambridge even remotely worth their fee?

Being from (way) out of town and having only a few days to visit and apartment-hunt, I thought a realtor would be nice (I can't coordinate going to see every single ad on Craigslist that looks promising in just 3 days).

However, I know that the vast majority of realtors are just... ugh. Wondering if there are any that are acceptable - or any companies that have a fairly good rep. for non-luxury renters?

Nope, Rented a couple apts from realtors and they just look at broken windows, bad appliances and the shooting in progress outside and tell you it's a well maintained bldg in an up and coming neighborhood. Don't forget, their commission based salesman. They are NOT on your side and not looking in your best interest. Unless of course your renting a $5000.00/month apt downtown somewhere. Stick with craigslist and newspapers and rent direct from the people you pay rent too.

Guess it's a good thing I decided to be in town hunting for a week rather than a few days, then!
