Hi guys!

I am getting closer to moving to Boston. I am looking for an efficient and available real estate agent. Can you guys direct me to a reputable company that would deal with renters (no fees)?

Thanks!

Anybody? I just don't really know who to turn to, and I am assuming some people did use the services of a real estate agent rather than using craiglist?

Are you looking in Boston itself or outside the city & what type of rental & budget? Depending on the area I may know of an agent to connect you with. Re: fees, some rentals provide a fee to an agent from the landlord and some from the tenant.

I am looking in Boston and surroundings. I have a thread about what I am looking as far as apartment and neighborhood. But here I am just looking for a real-estate agent with no fees for the tenant. My preferred locations for now are the brookline, cambridge, JP .

I'm not sure that "no fee" agents exist in Boston. In this area, there is not a single commonly accepted fee collection method. Instead, the fee is usually determined by an agreement between the landlord and their agent. Sometimes the landlord pays all the fee. Sometimes the landlord pays his own agent's fee and the tenant pays their agent. Other times, the tenant pays a fee which is split between the agents. As there's not a uniform fee arrangement in the area it would be difficult for a "no fee" agent to consistently make money and therefore continue to exist.

That's interesting. Here in Miami, pretty much all real estate agent are no fee for tenants. I guess things are different in Boston. Thanks for the info.

After Boston, the place I've spent the most time in my life is Miami. I can assure you there are a lot of differences between the two places.
