Then Sharon may be an option. It is DEFINITELY a family town. The two bedroom apartments in the community that the poster above mentioned are about $2200 a month. There is VERY LITTLE in the way of rentals otherwise. My 3 bedroom rental home is ridiculously over the top at $1650 a month, in my opinion. There is a 2 family rental that I know of near the station, but she won't rent to a family with small children because she doesn't have a lead certificate.
I would still recommend Mansfield or Stoughton for rentals and proximity to commuter rail. Perhaps Canton, as well? I really like Canton, and find it much more convenient than my town, but I'm not familiar with where the station is in relation to rentals.
