so I'm suppose to attend a party in Somerville in Winter Hill next weekend. However, I've been warned that Somerville has City-Wide permit parking....
so basically if your not a resident with a permit, you can't park anywhere in somerville?? This is also no where near the T...and no I'm but I'm not taking a bus.

any help please?

The person having the party can register for additional guest permits for parties. If the host fails to do this, then no, you cannot park on a permit-only street. Some larger streets do not require permits; but a metered spot before 8pm is only good for two hours. Check the Somerville website for spcifics on which streets aren't permit-only (I'm guessing Broadway?)

If you find the bus really so objectionable (why, incidentally?) what about taking a cab from Davis or Sullivan, depending on where you're coming from?

No, it's wide open until the meters come back on.
