Anybody know a good place to get new all season tires on my car in boulder? Good quality good price? I drove in two days ago from California on bald tires. It was less than fun driving down 70 in that snowstorm Wednesday. I am so ready to put an end to the exciting driving. Thanks!

Not sure about prices but in the past they have matched internet prices for us. You cannot beat them for service. Best place in town: Barnsley Tire. I've been doing business with them for 25 years. Barnsley Tire Co Inc - Boulder, CO, 80302 - Citysearch

PS glad you got here safely!

Neditate: Barnsley was actually the first shop I went to ok Saturday but they couldn't take me until Thursday so I unfortunately ended up at discount on 28th. Spent about $600. Eek. But now i feel much safer driving in this weather. I was out walking on pearl st mall this evening when it started snowing..very pretty, and I had no issue driving home!

@meowen we r from socal looking to move to the boulder area. please tell me how you find the weather compared to Ca. we live in Lng Beach. I am concerned about the cold and snow. Never really had any experience with either. Love the outdoors, camping and hiking, but snow I don't know. Sounds crazy? Any suggestions or comments will be great, thanks.

@Meowen - good tires make all the difference! Barnsley is always swamped this time of year, sorry you couldn't get in.

Ubergroomer: I actually grew up in Michigan so I know what its like to live through cold winters. When its sunny here it actually feels like its 10-20 degrees warmer so that helps a lot but when its 5 degrees it is pretty tough to appreciate for me lol...you should probably visit in the winter and see if it bothers you.

Neditate: it seems like most people here have a set of winter tires and a set of summer tires. I went with all season because 1. I don't have room to store them. 2. In michigan I was always fine with all season where we had 300+ inches of snow per year. 3. I'll try to stay out of the mountains during storms.
Hopefully that should be ok!

When I lived in Boulder I had all season tires and they were fine. Drove a Honda Civic (almost) everywhere with no problems. I got snow tires once I moved into the foothills.

My car is a civic although I'm starting to feel like I must be missing out on something because I don't drive a subaru outback

LOL! Contrary to popular belief they are not a requirement when you move here. I've lived here for 30 years without one, but I have friends who won't drive anything else.
