I'm planning to spend 3 days in Toronto area Canada. I'm planning to drive to Buffalo, park my car and then rent a car to drive in to Canada. Can some one please suggest a safe, most economical parking for me? Does not have to be in the City. Can be anywhere -plus/minus 20 miles.

Why? Why would you do that? It makes no sense to drive your car to Buffalo then rent another to drive to Canada. You could park your car at pretty much any suburban plaza or hotel parking lot and it would be fine for the 3 days.

Thanks for your reply. The reason is I'm going to Canada for an immigration landing and I will be back in the US in 3 days. If I were to take my car I would have to import it and I don't want to do that as I'm not moving to Canada as of now. Hope that makes sense.

Why would you have to import it? If it's a US registered vehicle you can drive it across the border and back again 3 days later with no hassels.

Immigration landing means he is going to Canada to interview so he can become a full time/permanent resident. Im guessing that he believes they will make him import & register his vehicle in Canada at that time (if he has it with him). I dont know that to be a fact but I imagine he has done his research on the matter.

Could also park at the Niagara Falls Train station and take the train to Toronto and back. Likely cheaper ($35 each way) . go to amtrak.com and plug in station IDs "NFL" and "TWO".

Yes you are right jblake78728. I'm going for a what is called a landing to become a full time Canadian resident and they usually make the person import the car. Since I'm not obliged to move immediately, I will be back in 3 days and hence the rental car.

ok, I understand that you are not moving immefiately, but how would thry have to know how you got to the office? How would they know if the car you parked in a ramp 3 blocks from their office is yours or a rental?

You may want to consider parking at one of the private parking lots at Buffalo Airport adjacent to the rental car offices. For a few dollars a day you can have a protected lot without worry, and be close to (or at) a rental office. They are located along Genesee Street - take 33 East from I-90, right on Genesee Street.
