Well, maybe that's because most of us do tilt to the left. Hello?

Quote:
[LEFT]Victory no longer is sweet for California Republican Party interests that helped strip the Democratic-controlled Legislature of the right to draw political districts.

Republicans say the fledgling 14-member independent commission they helped create through passage of Proposition 11 in 2008 is tilting to the left.

State GOP Chairman Tom Del Beccaro cried foul last week over the hiring of Q2 Data and Research to provide expertise in drawing 177 legislative, congressional and Board of Equalization districts.

"We haven't seen the final results, but they certainly have opened the door to wide-ranging suspicion, and that defeats the purpose of the process," Del Beccaro said of commissioners.

What party is refusing to put tax extensions on the ballot because they know it will pass?

It doesn't matter as long as they play fair and reduce the gerrymander games. Districts like the 23rd Congressional which is only a few miles wide along much of the coast should not be allowed. Map:

These maps below also speak to what the voters need to watch. They show which Congressional and State Senate Districts are over or under the expected number of people using the 2010 Census numbers. The population shift inland means the districts need to be adjusted inland also. But it should not be done using gerrymandering to handpick voters for safe seats for either party.

And what party got us here (the 26.6 billion deficit) in the first place?

It will never pass. Even my extreme liberal friends know it.

The GOP is playing too many games these days...holding up the budget not because they want more cuts, but because they don't want to allow the public to vote for an extension on current tax rates is pure politics. I'm not happy with either party, but so far the GOP seems to be playing games. I thought they might have learned their lesson in 2008, but now I see it's the same crap, just another method. The only real change they're trying to bring deals with ending abortions and birth control...
