What of a hell of a thing to try to fix 500 years of slavery in which a people were systematically destroyed and fix disadvantages faced by laws passed on through generations ... Some of which were just 40 years ago
Give it 3-4 generations.. That's about 90-120 years from 1964 .. A sensible amount given the damage inflicted over 500 years... And an amount of time for people to grow beyond damage/setbacks as recent as 1972.

Some people will never get it .. Luckily they have no say in @#%* ! Georgia .. go figure *eyeroll

And maybe 500 years from now, we should still give preferential treatment to African Americans.

Great... underpriviledged illegals will get tax paid financial aid thanks to the dream act and now they get easier admittance because of affirmative action...

A regular tax paying legal student will have a harder time getting in, getting financial aid, and not to mention schools are already over crowded so getting all the classes needed to graduate in 4 years is nearly impossible.

or maybe 3-4 generations .. slightly 1/4th-1/5th the time you destroyed African Americans .. Or you could be a moron and assume 1:1 .. Invent a time machine and go back and erase it and I'd be fine w/ that too .. Then you dont need any affirmative action

And whose fault is it that illegals are taking advantage of a system not meant for them .. Don't blame the people who have rightful privledge to it.. Get off your but w/ the rest of your fellow Californian's and change it .. Oh wait, you love illegals

And this did not just start happening. From the time of slavery minorities were always held back from education. That lack of education is responsible for today's conditions. While whites were never held back from education this enabled them a good jump start ahead of all others. If the country feels bad for what made it(slavery), then least they could give free education to minorities. Blacks barely legally started voting not even 50 years ago.

I laugh when people blame illegals and love capitalism.

Capitalism loves you back ...
Illegal Immigration Costs California $10.5 Billion Annually
"In hosting America's largest population of illegal immigrants, California bears a huge cost to provide basic human services for this fast growing, low-income segment of its population. A new study from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year."

You're right. I don't need affirmative action. Never had to rely on one to get to where I am now.

This country is becoming more and more based on skin color, really getting to the point where it is hard to deny that the melting pot theory is just a huge failure.

The racial spoils system is alive and well, each special interest group will fight tooth and nail to keep it going.

Typical caucasian racism. Worry about yourself and dont worry about the little colored person down the road. Too much crying and not enough thinking before you talk in this forum. This country was built on discrimination, why stop now? Everything is about skin color when its not your way, but when it is its called progression. Get at me.
