it is as much libertarian as conservative
Libertarians are just Conservatives that like drugs and prostitution

I do so enjoy watching the Conservatives squirm against facts, they did the same thing with the SCOTUS ruling. If the facts interfere with their beliefs, they turn the facts on their heads and spank them.

Yeah, I know. Shameful, ain't it? Kinda like CA having about 13% of the population yet about 32% of its welfare recipients. Shameful I tell you!
Curmudgeon, you hit the nail on the head,, it is shameful. In addition to the counties I mentioned the following account for the great majority of that 32%, the good Conservative counties of Tuolumne, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Calaveras, Madera, Merced, Mariposa, Fresno, Inyo, Tulare, and Kern.

Comparing all these counties by the 2008 electoral map, they nearly all went red. So much for that John Wayne wannabes

As Curmudgeon says, "Shameful"

One slight differentiation, MO is no longer considered a solid red state. Now it's pink - a swing state. Imagine that. And I still like it here; perhaps even more so.

As for the rest, I'm sure the 2.2 million Los Angeles county residents (20%) receiving benefits don't hurt the overall state percentage either. I mean, who knew there were that many closet conservatives in LA. Must all be in West Hollywood, right?

The Counties of
Tehama, Yuba, Trinity, Siskiyou, Del Norte, receive around 30% of their income from Federal benefits

The Counties of Humboldt, Mendocino, Lake, Glenn, Butte, Nevada, Plumas, Shasta, Lassen and Modoc, receive around 21 to 30 % of their income from Federal Benefits.

In the rest of CA, one can see that "Red" counties receive substantial amounts of their counties income from Federal Benefits.

So the State of Jeffersonians are essentially, Kings and Queens of Welfare with their hands out for Federal handouts

The classic liberal counties along the coast from SF south, receive a far smaller percent of their income from Federal handouts
This is how most red states operate. They beeatch about "Socialism" yet receive most of their funding from federal taxes garnered from the residents of MOSTLY blue donor states.

I wonder how many of these so called "libertarians" believe in freedom of choice, gay marriage, other civil rights and a reduction in spending on the military and homeland security. Seems their interest in the bill of rights is limited to the second and tenth amendments and they're fine with government programs that benefit white males.
