Fresno doesnt sound very friendly at the first glance... I wanna get there and make up my mind.
But for sure, I am going to rent a gated access place, with a garage

Its a city of 500K people. Yeah, it has crime, but its overall crime rate is no worse than any other large city in California save for San Diego or San Jose. The people there are actually pretty nice (more friendly than the Bay Area or SoCal). But yeah, you're going to be working closer to Visalia, so why bother with Fresno?

Yeah, I am not afraid of the crime rate, I assume everyone has his own perception of safety...
And still, I prefer a 500K people city than a 120K village (just teasing ;-) )
We are aiming to Fresno since we move from Bucharest (2500K inhabitants), my wife doesnt have a job insured yet in the US, we like going out at nights... so we think that might be easier for us.
I actually cant wait to get there!
