A far cry from the stereotyped "liberal" Democrat. I like to remind people that if you like our National Parks, National Forests, Wildlife refuges, you are a defacto liberal.
For every one of that kind of Democrat, there's 100 gun-hating, America-hating, vegan types in LA and SF who will work to ban your use of pack animals in the next election.

Also, in San Diego, Democrat Scott Peters has defeated Republican Brian Bilbray in the 52nd Congressional District.

Which is hilarious since at 11 o'clock last night Bilbray was on a local channel saying that he was going to hold off on giving his acceptance speech for another hour or two. Only 16% of the vote was in at the time.

Yeah, I'd say it was a good call to hold off.

The same happened with Carl Demaio. He had a small lead last night and had a small rally at his headquarters where he gave a speech expecting to be the next mayor. Then when I woke up this morning, I found out that Filner is actually the mayor now.

First of all: 10% spread is huge: if any candidate wins by more than 5% it is considered a landslide and you are saying 10% isn't much..What would you call a lot?

I do agree, the party needs to find some way to attract minorities, especially the Hispanics, but it appeals to more than just old white males as you call them. Have you talked to people who are republicans? We are not talking only Ca, it has been blue for ages and will remain that way for decades, we are talking throughout the country. If only the old white males are Republicans how do you explaing, of the 26 young people, I personally can think of, via young grandaughters and spouses, only 3 of them voted for Obama and they are all college graduates, some with masters degrees.

and Italianuser, name calling is so classy. Can't you just swim in the glory without the slide remarks?

That you use the term "America hating", indicates an ideological position the baffles belief and renders any comment you could ever make not worth reading. I am sorry that your ideology has done this to you. May I suggest a country to move to that shares your beliefs. Iran.

Remember, Folks, stereotyping is approved, only when done in support of, or by liberals.
