Does this surprise anyone?

The Best- and Worst-Run States in America - Yahoo! Finance

The naysayers will say that it doesn't matter. They will tell us that they would never live in any of the well-run states anyway. When will they wise up? Just because CA has great weather and geography does that mean we must accept having our state rate at the bottom every time we are compared to the rest of the country?

Do you dispute the methodology in how they did the ratings? Is it fair?

Oh hell, I don't know. No other state has woods or beautiful views or mountains or great weather, oh wait...

Oh I get it now, you must work for the state of California and need as many people as possible to stay to pay for your benefits. Ah ha ha ha ha ha....

The difference between the best run state and the worst run state is imperceptible to the average citizen. Those differences are in the noise compared to the other differences between states. That is, I (and about 20 million others) would rather live in California (the worst run state) BY FAR than live in North Dakota (the best run state).

I enjoyed my 2000 yard swim outdoors during my lunch break today in sunny 70F degree weather in Irvine, CA.

Agreed. NORTH DAKOTA...
But let's consider other states that don't suck so much and offer a much higher standard of living with equally inticing features. That kind of changes things.

OK, if I couldn't live in CA then I'd look at TX or maybe Denver CO but only if I couldn't live in CA and only because those places have jobs for me.

Well, it's certainly not the most corrupt.

Six Illinois governors have been charged with crimes during or after their governorships; four were convicted, and of those, one (Blagojevich) was the first to be impeached and removed from office.
