I shall start with Orcutt Burger, found in Orcutt (so I hear, never been to it) and in Grover City, Really excellent burgers and etceteras.

The Habit. They put these caramelized onions on the burgers and it really adds a lot.

Colorado Grill, already mentioned elsewhere. Cooked to order right in front of ya.

Comes with a bonus faux '50's setting and jukebox.

Five Guys...meh.

The 'shrooms as "standard equipment" sickened me.

Otherwise not a horrible burger, but maybe one tenth as good as they say it is.

If you've had Sonic, you've had Five Guys.

I still say that In-N-Out is good but to me, the Gold Standard in [sit-down] burgers is still Fuddruckers. Just wish they had more of them.

Fat Jack's on Shaw in Clovis.

More authentic '50's vibe and cute carhops.

Wimpeys in Tulare also does a pretty decent burger. It's a tiny, total hole-in-the-wall place, but the burgers are pretty good. Small, but good. Order at least a double if not a triple unless you eat like a bird.

The owner-Aziz-is something else. A real one of a kind cool guy.

My Sons who live in NoHo tell me the Habit is amazing; and that their Milkshakes are pretty good as well! I'm headed up to the L.A. area next week and will give it a try!

Hey, they opened a Habit Burger in Visalia on the site that Mearle's burned down and wasn't rebuilt. Next time I'm in Visalia I'll give it a try also.

They've got a lot to live up to on Mearle's site. They were a great burger.
