We don't want to have to check Sacramento forum for all surrounding areas. I mean really?

I think Fresno would probably be next in line if they go by size and forum participation. When I lobbied for the Central Coast Forum I was told by the moderators that they look at the number of threads - the traffic basically. So I tallied up all the threads on the Central Coast and presented that as substantial evidence regarding forum participation. Then I was told that the mods were moving away from 'regional forums' such as the Central Coast or the Central Valley. Later they decided to add Monterey County which though a bit odd when compared to the Central Coast, I was happy to at least have coverage.

Based on this experience I would say Placer County has very low odds of ever having a dedicated forum, especially with Sac right next door. But I could be wrong. You never know. I guess you could try to make a case for it and see. The place to make a formal request is in the Admin Zone here http://www.city-data.com/forum/about-forum/.

Sometimes I think I'm the only Fresnan here. So I spread Fresno to the other sub-forums.

I kinda covered the central valley today a little bit, also.

I will say there is a benefit to having a sub forum or using a neighboring one. The main California forum tends to focus on complaints about the economy, politics or debates about stupid stuff which devolve into endless squabbles. Threads can get derailed pretty quickly with junk posts. Whereas in the sub forums ppl generally have more specific questions and the locals tend to whine less and help a bit more.

Honestly since I joined there's been 2 threads started about moving to Fresno itself. So I'm doubting there will be a sub-forum any time soon.

I don't recall any about Placer County locations.

Most of the requests for info concerning Placer County involve the main towns along/near I-80 including Roseville/Rocklin, Loomis, Lincoln, Auburn. Try searching for those cities to get some idea of Placer County. You'll find most people with questions about Placer County post on the Sacramento forum because the cities, particularly in South Placer County, are often thought of as suburbs of Sacramento.

Hope this helps

Maybe they thought you meant "Nother Load" and they said we already have too much of that.

Actually, I think that was the name of the recycling outfit in Jamestown long ago.
