Just a bird discussion. You know how I get haha. We can pick up our climate topic now. I like not having to start a whole new thread or take others off topic.

What, and interrupt whats basically become the youtube burbs?

BTW, never tried porting a conversation over to another thread... interesting!

As I was asking, Pacific coast climate change as mainly a matter of exaggerated 'extremes'?

I have. I got told not to mix convos up in different threads. /shrug

Me and Ruth brought down a bit of a convo from SF as well about the place but I have to be cryptic about that. Shhh...

According to current data we're not in an extreme of extremes really. But it's trending to the dry side.

No worries, and I kinda figured this one was more like the Wild West anyway (hopefully minus the occasional shoot-em ups)!

Though I admit that a coupla city slickers talking climate change might be kinda pushing thangs...!

My beloved mockingbirds have never swooped on any humans here, but when they're feeling broody they'll swoop the dog and cats. They're certainly not afraid of much.

the extremes are noticeable; when it's dry it's DRY. When it's wet it's WET etc. Look at the Bay Area this season; December saw huge amounts of rain, so much so that, despite the fact that it only rained for four days in all of January and February, by the end of February most places still had 80% for the year! What's also happening is that spring and summer weather seem to be arriving earlier. Being away from the bay area for a long time made me notice the changes here very well. I was recently in Tilden Park. They built a wooden trail over party of wildcat creek long ago. Even in summer, that area once always had water in it all year long. When I was there a week and a half ago, it was bone dry in March! If it ever would dry before it was usually in September during a drier than normal rainfall year.

Far be it for me to actually insist on topicality. I'm just poking Gentoo some. Let 'er rip.
