Will Moonbeam sign these? One of them forbids rifles with detachable magazines. Wow, does anyone know of a semi auto 223 rifle without a detachable magazine? They are banning everything except bolt action?

Ammunition registration will be required. A 10 year ban for hazing? Bans magazines over 10 rounds including those that people already own. So confiscation of gun magazines?

And microstamping is now required. Good luck buying a handgun in CA. Will handgun manufacturers make special edition guns just to comply with CA microstamping law? I think not. Note that CA police departments are exempt from the microstamping law. They want to retain their ability to choose the best handgun. But you and I are screwed.

I certainly hope none of this comes as any surprise to you. The good news is, the bills aren't signed yet so they're not a done deal. If nothing else, CA is an expert on excess.

Confiscation would constitute a government "taking" which is unconstitutional. I wonder how many millions the court cases will cost the state.

Dang! Guess I can never move back now. If my Mini-14 .223 with my 20-round magazines aren't welcome, neither am I. What's funny is that Ruger sells a "California" Mini-14 that comes with a five round magazine. But the larger ones fit it as well. Now if you will excuse me it's time to order some 30-rounders. Less reloads at the range.

My oh my: It sounds like California isn't changing much. Now, I remember one of the reasons we wanted to get the heck out. No, I am not even a gun owner, but I just don't want the government in my face 24/7.

Background checks for ammunition? I wish to god these legislators would know that there is already a good gun law in California; background checks. These checks work just fine if the court records department would do their job and complete these checks. Too often, they don't get the background check completed and returned to the FBI in the 72 hour time frame. Instead of more laws, how about just making sure the people in the department that are responsible for completing these checks would do their damned job.

Please explain how the government of California is "in <one's> face 24/7." Cite real examples and sources please.
