I think my title explains it all. My betrothed and I live in Florida. We are at least stopping in CA for part of our honeymoon. Any one care to share their thoughts on romantic cities/areas? Thanks.

Yosemite would be a great start if you're into natural beauty.

San Francisco is a romantic city...lots to see and do.

There are also many gorgeous coastal towns all up and down the state if you like beaches...(NorCal beaches aren't great for swimming-too cold...more scenic/romantic)

Malibu Beach, Newport Beach in Southern California. Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach in Central California. San Francisco and Wine Country (Napa, Calistoga) here in the Northern part of the state.

Yosemite is #1.

Next: Marin/Napa/Sonoma counties: wine country, beach country, redwood country, with a day trip into SF, and a walk part-way across the GG Bridge.

The Ahwahnee has a honeymoon suite, OP, but I'm sure it books far in advance. Any of their rooms would be great. When is this honeymoon scheduled for? Book Yosemite as early as possible. They have private cabins, too.

So many great suggestions! It's going to be a tough decision. The wedding is next May. Thanks, guys. I got a lot of research to do! I'm leaning towards Santa Barbara, Yosemite, or Tahoe.

We want to move to CA, so perhaps well just do the whole Honeymoon in CA and explore a few different places (he has family in LA, I've never been though).

I would suggest Santa Barbara. Other than the Hearst Castle, you could die of boredom in Cambria. But Yosemite/Ahwanee would be great also. Congratulations!

Boron --home of the TwentyMule Team Folks
Coalinga--Harris Ranch is near there
Ventucopa--miles from nowhere--can lie on the highway safely

I am waiting for someone to chime in with a few other choice California towns as destinations...wouldn't want to take away their thunder. ")
