California has a wide range of climate and landscape. In your opinion, where can you retreat to when the breakout occurs?

Places where you can have a place to grow your own food, abundant water and far from the possibly toxic Metropolitan areas?

I would rule out for example the Los Angles basin and San Diego for their lack of local water. In addition, the huge populations will become uncontrollable and unsustainable.

So, where would you hideout until the dust settles?

Trona. Everyone there is already a zombie, so the zombies would just pass it by.

I would head for the cities. Amazingly enough, people in the cities are good at working together to accomplish things (see the earthquakes in the past).
