If the SF bay area was doing so great, why are over 23% of the residents of San Francisco living in poverty.

Why are over 18% of those in Santa Clara county the big part of the Silicon Valley living in poverty. And it gets worse from there throughout California if California is doing so great.

Why are over 26% of those in Los Angeles County and over 23% of Orange County residents living in poverty.

Why is California way higher than any other state in the country with its poverty.

As employer after employer flees the state with the middle class employees following them for their jobs, and California based companies like Apple in the silicon valley opening their new big job producers in other states, poverty is starting to really soar in California far ahead of other states. According to the Census Bureau, nearly one-fourth (23.8 percent, up from a 20-year low of 12 percent in 2006,) of California's 38-million people live below the poverty line.

The poverty rate, is the surest indicator of the true financial condition of a states residents.

Some people in California are earning good income. However when the median income of the residents in all of the states is adjusted for cost of living in the state, California barely makes it to be in the middle of all states, and nearly 1/4th of all households live in poverty.

Why does California K-12 school performance fall so low compared to other states?

California

Here is a report that shows the trends between Texas and California, showing how California has lost it's first place for private equity funds to back business 3 years ago, and now Texas is by far the leader. A strong indicator that the financial world is no longer leading businesses to California but to Texas.

Texas now receiving well over DOUBLE the per capita investment of California | FlashReport

When are the current residents of California going to wake up, and start demanding changes that make it possible for companies to stay in California, open manufacturing plants in California, and quit shipping jobs and middle class tax payers out of state, which keeps increasing the California poverty rate.

I'm wondering how slow a news day it has to be in Columbus MT for you to even care? Hop on over to Billings and see if they have lives on sale at Walmart.

Source?

Yea, because Fortune 500 companies like Northrop, Boeing, Toyota, Chevron and Charles Schwab employ a ton of low skill dummies in low wage jobs they have all left CA recently taking many thousands of very well paying jobs with them.

"Last year, Chief Executive Magazine’s annual rankings, based on a survey of 650 chief executives on taxation, regulation, workforce quality and living environment, ranked California 50 out of 50 for the eighth year in a row. California also received an “F” grade in January from the Kauffman Foundation in a survey of 6,000 small businesses across the country. The Tax Foundation ranked California 48th worst on business taxes."

Since when do conservatives care about how many people are living in poverty?

If they're poor, it's their own fault. Conversely, rich people got that way through their own merit and hard work and nothing else.

Right?

I refer you to this post, upthread, which you have completely ignored.

No one cares about a few companies expanding in CA when we are losing 3 companies for ever 1 we get. Especially when those leaving are Fortune 500 companies like Boeing, Toyota, Chevron and Charles Schwab just to name a few. You seem to be determined to ignore these facts...

Wake up and save my home state, before it collapses completely. My last kids left the state last week. The state they were born in, educated in, and grew up in. They pulled out to go to where the opportunities they had as children are still available to them.

It's a bit more complicated than that. Of course, as you see, all the boosters are here lauding the creation of jobs in the knowledge economy generally geared toward people under 30 and hyper educated people from overseas (who, unlike the tired masses of the past, have family money out the wazoo). And also true is the fact that many other jobs have left. The jobs that have left are geared toward native born (of all shades, ethnic backgrounds, etc) moderately educated (or educated at non-sexy non-Ivy places) middle class folks. That'd be jobs like working in a wafer fab, programming an ICT machine, or sussing out a metallurgical problem that cropped up on the shop floor.
