You don't think the housing stock in Pasadena is much older and more historic compared to Walnut Creek?

Yes, the housing stock is older in Pasadena, you are correct. There are some areas of Walnut Creek though, in which the homes resemble the homes in Pasadena. The area is on Ygnacio Valley Road, near the Safeway headquarters. There are other areas also. I lived in Pasadena and South Pasadena for several years and every time I'm in Walnut Creek, it feels like Pasadena.

Downtown Pasadena can be very bustling and crowded.

La Canada Flintridge might be a good comparison.

La Canada Flintridge is very exclusive and to me, is probably closer to Danville in comparison. Old Town Pasadena is usually crowded.

Pasadena feels much more urban. I think its downtown is much busier than Walnut Creek's.

Also Pasadena has a lot of historical architecture. Most of downtown Walnut Creek is postwar.

Pasadena's downtown reminds me of WC but its an older suburb with more classic style housing.

I kind of feel like Carlsbad to Del Mar could be somewhat of a coastal SoCal version of that area.
Irvine and Dublin might be a more valid comparison.
