My family is relocating to Goleta this summer. Is there a significant difference between Dos Pueblos and San Marcos? Areas of most importance to us are safety and a good environment for kids who are self motivated /driven to excel.

Thanks,
Mike

I used to live not too far from San Marcos HS. Dos Pueblos is much further out (west).
Both areas are very safe.
Dos Pueblos does a bit better on API rankings, but the two are still fairly comparable. See here:
California School Performance Maps

Actually, this should be moved to the Ventura forum......hold that thought!
This should be moved to the non-existent Santa Barbara forum.

or the California section, which encompasses places that don't have their own forums.

I posted in LA because I found other Santa Barbara questions posted. If it's better placed in the California section maybe a moderator could move it for me.

There aren't Santa Barbara questions posted under LA.
