Yes. Even though most Americans are likely more fiscally conservative than Democrats, the Republican stance on social issues is a turn-off by many. This is especially apparent with the garbage coming out out Trump's mouth:

-Anti-muslim / anti-immigrant rhethoric
-Anti-women (grab them by the p***y, appoint Kavanaugh and do a cover up / fake investigation for his allegations, rather than fully investigating)

I'm missing a ton. For some people (mainly, older, white, uneducated rural folks) none of this rhethoric matters. For others, mainly suburban women (and men), this is disgusting and a deal breaker. Not every state is going to turn red this go around, but the trends are clearly there. The Republicans may in fact squeeze out control of the Senate for another session, but this is likely their last stand in their current form.

Thank you. People love to spew those facts without context, so it's important to keep reminding them of the above points.

Don't throw away your vote - that's how we ended up where we are (with POTUS) now! Just vote for the lesser of two evils, like I do in almost every election these days. I wish it didn't have to be like that, but unfortunately it does.

Yeah, he's no paragon of virtue by any stretch. If this were twenty years ago he wouldn't even be running because of that. Basically, many politicians are dogs, but you usually only hear about it in the media when it suits their agenda.
We all know about his "moral shortcomings," so it was reported PLENTY... but I personally don't care about their personal lives, unless it's directly related to how they'll govern. I mean, if we had to vote on "virtue," basically nobody would qualify. I know I'm not perfect, are you?

So the guy cheated - like millions of other men, including my own father (with my mother's best friend no less). My father still successfully managed a Fortune 500 company, and never slacked on his responsibilities at work OR with his children. And treated for alcohol abuse 13 years ago? As long as he's sober now, who cares? That's a fairly long time ago, especially for a man his age, and I certainly don't have a pedestal to stand on when it comes to using substances.

Give me a strong third-party (preferably Libertarian or Green) candidate, and I will happily vote for them! But until then, I will be going BLUE across the board. Sorry.

But none of this has much to do with CA's debt anyway.
Obama added to the debt, but about half the addition was simply correctly counting debt the Bush wars combined with tax cuts produced. And most of the other half was to dig out of the Bush depression.

I agree democrats are tax and spend. That's more fiscally responsible than republicans, who borrow and spend.

At some point, people will get tired of holding up the big tent for other groups while their grievances remain ignored. Cracks will form, possibly groups which have bad relationships with the police will get tired of the police unions influencing Sacramento so much, or maybe police unions will get tired of the prisons being emptied. It may be the Republicans that pick up disgruntled Dem constituents, or maybe the more radical dems go to a socialist party or disgruntled dems go to the Green Party, but the infighting will start and there will be defections and splinters.

I get what your saying but Ca seems like this weird place where the majority just stay lock step with whatever the politicians tell them to do or think I've been living here over 50 years and it's just getting worse

And when you get to Arizona, as your location feature suggests, maybe you'll learn why it ranked #2 in the nation in people who wanted to leave the state, and #1 in people who intended to leave the state within a year. If you really want to experience how not to run a state, you'll either experience it firsthand there, or just bury your head in the sand as so many other transplants do while the, for lack of a better term, "leaders" fiddle while Rome burns. As someone who squandered too much of my life there, I can attest that the exact same complaints you're raising now are applicable there. If all you want is an overpriced, poorly made, tract McMansion and an arsenal just to say you have one, then you can ignore the looming problems mounting in that state for reasons such as "...the majority just stay lock step with whatever the politicians tell them to do or think..."

this time, it should be time to pay off those debts but we now know, DEFICIT only matters to Republicans if they are not in power. once they are in power, they really dont care. its just talking points to win
