It took about 4 hours to drive 20 miles, can you say gridlock.
Same thing happened to us in the Carr fire, we stayed at a dumpy place in Red Bluff then found nicer digs a couple nights later.
Good luck to you.

I felt so awful, it was like being on the Titanic or something, while we were waiting for neighbors Mother to get to the car, another person, who I have never seen before, asked us to take her & another person, too, but we did not have any room left. I hope they got out Ok.

I'm watching CBS13 now and they're reporting the entire town of Paradise is gone. I'm trying to imagine what that must look like. It was so beautiful up there. I'm so sorry evening sun. You and someone else who posts here (can't remember their screen name right now) live up there. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

My Heart goes out to everyone in Paradise. No place is immune to WildFires in California.
I love Paradise as I have cousins in Chico and one of my dogs came from a dog breeder in Paradise.

Sending prayers and holding good thoughts for those affected by this devastating fire.
Thanks for your kind thoughts and yes, we all need to pray for those in an around Paradise. My father and step mom lived there for about 30 years after dad retired. I loved to visit them and always though, if we returned to Ca to live, Paradise would be our choice of locations. Now, our family have all gone on to a better life,so we are not directly affected by the fires, but it still breaks my heart to think about those who are

Oh, my heart goes out to you and no words can describe how badly I feel. Stay safe and let's hope your house is not as bad as you are expecting. Keep us posted. I can't even imagine all the problems NO CA has had with fires in the past few years.

While some of us sit here worrying about an election that is past and fighting over which party is better, we forget those who really have something to be concerned about.

I attended a graduation ceremony for family friends at the Paradise Adventist school many years ago. I imagine that's gone now.

and I think of the homes my parents owned in paradise, I think of dad serving on the vestry at church and his work on the city council. My step mom almost single handed financed the addition to their church and left the church about $100,000 when she died. I guess I could go on and on. Let's just hope there haven't been any deaths. Non have been reported I don't think

So sorry to hear this. In the 1970s my brother lived in Paradise for a few years. I was very young at the time and never got to Paradise, but did visit my sister nearby in Chico. I remember it as a nice area. This is very sad; hoping for the best for you and that things do not turn out as bad as you fear. Hang in there.
