47th out of 50 in fact.

Which is amazing considering how widely affected we actually are here. For states to be far worse off than California means they are in dire straits. Wow

Thanks for posting this. I’m really surprised. If I had to guess before you posted this I would have said California was in the top five, certainly in the top 10.

Kentucky at #2 is another shocker.

Youre welcome. Things are very bad, but California is actually faring better than any other large state, which might not even matter since losses here are going to be catasrophic as well, but you wouldnt think that we were among the least affected states since there is so much national media attention given to CA.

About the only industries I know of that is really hurting are sit down restaurants, gyms and small retailers that don't sell food. My town has the same amount of traffic the streets as it always has and most businesses are considered "essential" and open. I think closing schools, banning large gatherings and scaring elders into isolation has had the biggest impact on containment.

Child care and places like the Y may be toast. Boy and girl scouts. Anything related to mashing people together. Some movie theaters are opening. How is that gonna work. Even if you stagger seating you have to literally brush up against people to get in and out of the row.

So perhaps the op’s other thread about the horrible coming recession in California caused by trump was not even an issue that had any merit based on what he is posting here?

Job profiles have been evolving for years in California. This was a blue collar state years ago and over many years transitioned into high tech new generation jobs. Not so much in the so called rust belt states in many other places around the country.
