I just paid a $1.54 a gallon in another state and the roads look far better than the roads in Los Angeles or San Francisco.
Out of curiosity, what state was that?

Buy a Chevy Bolt.

No gas tax worries here.

It’s 3.2 cents a gallon. Moderator cut: personal
It’s not about one cut, it’s about the thousands of cuts felt by the people of a state that has the highest poverty rate in the country based on the census supplemental measure.

California’s individual tax burden is one of the highest in the nation.

Nice try but you're wrong... California is #11 in total tax burden (since you claim to live in Hawaii now you might want to know that they have the second highest tax burden in the US)

Have you ever lived in Wisconsin?

Californians are the stupidest people you could imagine to be so willing to accept every tax increase, Yes this is small but many aren't and together they add up. Our Communist goverment constantly increasing taxes is why the cost of living here is so high. Just think how nice California would be if we had a two party system keeping checks and balances on each other. Now the goverment just runs roughshod over everyone and everyone keeps voting for Democrats. They have no fear of getting voted out.

I remember the last Republican governors here in California.

No thanks.

If it's not fuel taxes, it's vehicle licensing that get increased. It's a "swap" game which has been played for decades and knows no party bounds. In spite of all the legislating and voter initiatives meant to fix it, the state always falls back on their budget emergency clause. Reams have been written about this.

Whatever, I agree it's small potatoes right now but it is annoying to see the money get redirected to the general fund all the time.

I see you’re back in this thread and ignored my question just two posts up from this response. What state were you in where you just paid $1.54 for a gallon of gas? I genuinely want to know?

Oh, I guess it is nice to have police and fire protection. And the highways where I live are well maintained

I like collecting Social Security and Medicare as a retired person like yourself.
