Here are some pictures from trip last week to Yosemite. The waterfalls are full force and the dogwoods are in bloom. It is gorgeous out there right now!

absolutely beautiful. YOu know, I was born and raised in CAlifornia, lived all over the state but never visited Yosemite. That is one of my biggest regrets. I have been to Zion, Bryce, the Grand Canyon and other parks, but not the park in my own state.

I think spring everywhere is awesome. Our dogwoods are almost finished blooming, but we have lots of other trees and flowers along the roadside and in almost every back or front yard.

I love Yosemite ... haven't been in a couple of years but i'd like to get over there soon while the water is still running strong.

It must be time for my annual springtime lunch at the Ahwanee trip. It's nice living 2 hours away from the valley.

Beautiful pictures Derek, I really like the nighttime ones. Looks like they got pounded yesterday in the valley with a big storm cell. I love the sound of thunder there, it really echoes off the rocks.

Thanks guys,

Yeah it is a pretty special time in the valley. DMenscha, I would love to be there during a thunderstorm. I just wouldn't want to out on a granite face somewhere. Although I can only imagine how cool it would look from Glacier Point.

Happ, Yes I have the new 5DII which does really well at night with higher ISOs.

You go right ahead and get your pictures from Glacier Point during a thunderstorm, I'll watch from the Ahwanee Bar. I can hear the call now........"Let the photographer fall...."
