I hate Continental Subtropical and Humid Continental Climates. So there! ....

Actually, I don't truly hate them, but they are not my favorites.

Call me a Mediterranean snob!

I wish I lived in an area where I didn't have to deal with humidity and bad weather year round.

Growing up mostly (military brat) on one of the harbor islands in Newport Beach I loved the "endless summer." The more time in the water swimming and sailing, the better. However, I also lived in some other countries and a number of other states. After awhile I found SoCal weather to be redundant and actually missed summer thunderstorms (had a beauty earlier this week) and four actual seasons. Now I have them all and all in one place. Bottom line, to each their own. One size doesn't fit all and never has. No harm! No foul!

Thank you for the comments! It's hard for me to choose to live closer to L.A or S.F. I like the location of LA which is located in the central area. From LA, is 3.5 hour driving to Vegas in east; 2 hour driving to San Diego in South; 1-2 hour driving to Malibu and Santa Barbara in north. Further north about 4-5 hour driving to hwy 1 with the best part of the coast scenery. The thing is that the housing is more expensive in LA than the housing inland. It's more affordable to live inland empire. Riverside is a choice with least expensive housing. But it needs to find the way to deal with the heat, drought and heavy traffic to LA.

Summer came late this year. Possibly because of La Nina. But when it finally came it came hot. For the last two weeks it was so humid and sultry It feel more like i am in the east coast than SoCal especially when it rains sometimes due to the monsoonal moisture.

Come to Colorado if you want interesting weather. If you wait 5 minute, it will change and it's never as predicated. In July and August the mornings are great and at noon the clouds come. By 2 pm it's raining, thundering with lightning and it lasts until 6 pm. We got snow in mid May this year. Anything but boring!

Last year I spent August and September in northern California and it rained ONCE. I left in October before it snowed. I hate rain and love dry sunny weather and plan to go back to California in the summers. I love snow and hate rain. You can have it!

Not here. There were triple digit temperatures in early June in greater L.A. No May Gray or June Gloom in greater this year.

If I recall correctly, we had below average temperatures and June gloom in OC for about the first three weeks of June.

Southern California's weather is okay, not great. I do wish we have 1 or 2 days of rain every week. But you can't change the climate, so the only way is to move if you don't like it.
