Default Heavy Rain N. California / Showers in S. California (tues & wed)

Central/Northern California will get over 3" of heavy rainfall in most part, while Southern California will get moderate rainfall by Tuesday & Wednesday.

SF: Heavy rain/wind, significant rain possible.
LA: Rain showers
SD: Few showers

This is great news! I drove to Yosemite over the weekend and on the way there I passed several reservoirs south and east of San Jose, all of which were at such low levels that large parts of them were better characterized as mud flats than lakes. We need a LOT of rain.

The polar jet stream of the Northern Hemisphere has moved south over one month earlier than normal.

Is this how an ice age starts? (semi rhetorical question ... in a sense, yes, however, this would need to be the pattern year after year).
