Moving to Canada is like moving to the U.S. You simply have to
get approved by their Immigration customs.

I heard Canada operates a special immigration stream for US citizens only sometimes. I read that we are only eligible when a Republican is president the quota varies between how hated the president is

All of the things I see are for a "federal skilled worker"

Does that mean one couldn't try to move there and get, say, a retail job?

I'm American, and I've got a Canadian boyfriend, and I'd like to move there with him, but I don't go to school, and I don't think marriage is quite there yet.

I wish it were easier. Like, Canada is just a nice place, why can't Americans just move there? (I know, I know, I sound young and stupid.)

Nope, unless you married him. Since that is not on the cards, you aren't going to be able to move to Canada anytime soon.

As for your last paragraph, I think you know the answer to that

Not going to happen, unfortunately.

You can't move to Canada just to live with your boyfriend.

The harsh reality of international borders!

You don't need to get married. If you can show that you have lived with your boyfriend for at least 1 year, you can immigrate as a common law partner.
