He started praying to his own Hindu gods without success. He eventually ended up going to a church and told me that Jesus answered his call and was spared thanks to him. He then asked me what religion I practiced. I told him that I come from a Christian family, but that we don't pray and only casually observe any Christian holidays. At the end of the ride, he told me not to ignore Jesus and ended up giving me his Church's card.
Aren't born-againers also evangelicals? Every born-again person I know of tries to evangelize.

I live in Winnipeg and there are a lot of evangelicals here. I live right next door to a giant evangelical church and there are a few just down the block.

You probably have, but they just keep it to themselves, mostly.

My aunt is VERY religious. Uber Catholic I call her

However, if you met her you probably wouldn't know. She wouldn't try and convert you since she believes that god will do what god will do and that he/she doesn't need her help.

She just lives her life in accordance to her beliefs. She knows me and since we are family she does discuss her religion more openly than she would a stranger. I'm not religious, and she doesn't tell me I'm going to hell

Even though I am

"Overt" means "not openly or obviously," just like your aunt.

Oh dear. I hate to be pedantic again but overt means the exact opposite of that ^.

Overt means something that is done or shown openly, plainly or readily apparent, not secret or hidden.

You're absolutely right! I was thinking that and writing the opposite!

I think that's the key here. There are a number of Christians who take their religion very seriously and try to observe religious practices as much as possible. The question is how many of them are zealots who try to force their belief onto others? Obviously, Canada has a number of them, even though the proportion is likely smaller than what would be found in the US.

They also don't have any real political power in Canada either. That's the biggest difference I believe.
