My neighbor passed yesterday morning. When I visited with him on Tuesday I knew it wouldn't be long. He died about 24 hours after I saw him.

My heart hurts for the wife he left behind, and of course, the children and grandchildren. She seemed to be in good spirits and so were the kids.

I call them kids but they are older than I am. I will never forget the day he was so aware and talking with me and telling me about the day he would never forget....the day that his wife told him that he was the one that she loved and wanted to spend the rest of her life with. He said that was the best day of his life, a day he would never forget.

How sweet. I sit here and think of all of the stories they both have told me, years full of memories, good times and bad.

What a blessing it was to get to know him. I just wish I went over and met him sooner. I will continue to go over and visit and do things with and for her. That will not end.

I am so sorry for her loss...

That is so weird. I saw an elderly person today. That is amazing how we both saw one.

Thanks Karen. I wish I had gone over sooner than last summer.
