I met people tonight that found a 10 wk old, black, boy kitten that has paralysis in hind legs/tail. He can't be kept long by them, as they have 2 cats already. We unfortunately (due to my roomie mostly, but also his cat) can't take him.

I know many of you can't either but he is a little black kitten & adorable. They took him to vet & he has muscle/nerve damge in rear legs, etc. thus they're not sure he can use litter box, etc. But they found him outside their home & need to give him up for adoption soon, I believe.

Please let me know if anyone would love a sweet little guy that desperately needs love & care. They said "he does motor around on front legs & chases his mouse", etc. so he does get around (I guess he doesn't know what it is like to have legs, so he deals w/ life as best he can).

This whole situation made me somewhat sad, seeing this little guy in need of love & special care. I know Garden Of Eden would love him but she's too far to send him.

Ok all, thanks for reading this.

Just sent this on to a fellow CD'er in Az. Not sure if she will have any interest, but worth a shot!

Eventually these poor kitties have a real hard time of it. From dragging themselves around they develop infected ulcers or sore callouses where their body touches the ground as they drag themselves along. They cannot use a litter pan. It appears they are unaware they even have to use one. At least some of them. They are a lot of work to keep healthy and alive. It would take someone who doesn't work and wont for at least the next 10 years. Someone who stays around the house most of the time. If she's willing to take him it may be worth shipping him to her.

Have your vet call Best Friends in Kanab, UT. They take special needs animals all the time. Both dogs and cats can learn to use custom-made carts to support the bad legs and keep them off the ground.

Update: We may try to get him on local tv news, so someone may adopt him.
