Seen this on dogs a dozen times, guess it's the cats' turn. The cat looked like cotton candy - it was oddly cute.

Give her a break - most of us were young and stupid once too.

I think its cute. It makes the little kitty even more adorable than it already is. But, if it harms the cat in any way, I'm against it, but its just food color, right?

Yea, it could be an insult to the cat, but I'm guessing the owner has a good idea of whether the cat will be insulted and has done the right thing. It seems like this was an act of affection rather than aggression.
