I had pet insurance, but ended up letting it expire. It wasn't an issue with the plans, I just always forget to put in the claims- I'm so busy that things like that are very hard to stay on top of.

Heather they wouldn't cover because of her age. Robin (5 years old) was covered with no issues. With JJ they asked for copies of his vet record, which is about 30 pages long. I'm assuming they didn't read it, because he was covered for everything but allergies as a preexisting condition (this cat has about two dozen other 'preexisting' conditions much more serious than his allergies).

I'm considered applying again and trying to make better use of it, especially with JJ. Thus far he's cost me over 16,000- who knows how much I could have saved?

I do make heavy use of Carecredit, and always pay it off before the interest free period runs out. The interest on CC is very high, and if you only make the minimum payments, you'll pay double what your bill was. For quite a long time the University of Pennyslvania would not take CC, but that has recently changed, thankfully.
