Just heard back, inquired as to why his stool could be soft (today he had a normal stool so maybe he over it, Yeah!) and why the Convenia was given.
Said the "stress" (their quotes not mine) of an anesthetic procedure can cause GI upset, told me to use a probiotic like FortiFlora, which we do already daily as they told us to several years ago.
Told me they sell it but it's also available on Chewy/Amazon and often cheaper there (trying to be nice like the no charge for the follow up visit where he got fluids?)
Said the Convenia injection is given to all their dental patients because unlike humans with cleanings every 6 months the bacterial load is greater in pets and the bacteria could settle in other parts of the body causing endocarditis.
Also said prophylactic antibiotics are often used in human procedures as well.

Seems like total overkill to me like others have said. Don't remember any other cat going through this, especially the opioid zombie state.

Thanks for the update and glad to hear he is doing better. It's a needless to the cat up-sell, in my opinion. Humans pre-medicate when they have other health conditions, such as heart trouble. Not routinely. And they didn't give you a choice. I also wil not allow convenia use in my cats.
Forti flora is not much of a probiotic, it's mostly animal digest (don't look that up, you'll be sorry lol)
I use a made for humans probiotic for cats.
